I am thrilled to discover that Millie Molly Mandy was reissued (in 2002 no less). I will be ordering it soon.

I have quite a few favorites at my blog. We read all day long. Daddy reads the last three books before night night and they tend to rotate among a few odd favorites.

Although I am usually reading stories in the morning or afternoon (it's my job!) and not bedtime, some of my current favorites are Little Pea by Rosenthal, Love and Roast Chicken by Knutson, Piggie Pie by Palatini, Pickin Peas by MacDonald and "Hi, Pizza Man" by Walter. There are a million more, but that's what I'm reading this week anyway :)

We loved The Mousehole Cat by Antonia Bayley with sublime, glowing illustrations by Nicola Bayley - a mystical tale of loyalty, courage, community and continuity. Deep and delightful.
Peter and Iona Opie's books documenting rhymes, songs and other children's lore are worth seeking out.
Edward Lear's verse and silly poems by Jack Prelutsky are a nice way to keep the mind busy while the body goes to sleep.
Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories" was adored by my daughter, which led her at 4 to suddenly ask "Grandma what does 'infinte sagacity' mean?" to the amazement of us all.

I LOVE I Like It When. It has been a favorite of mine since 2000(I didn't have a child until 2003) I am a complusive childrens book buyer. Before my first was born in 2003 I had 250, now, with 3 kids we are up to 890. You have some excellent picks on here:) I also love If You Were My Bunny, Counting Kisses, and ANYTHING by Kevin Henkes. Owen is my 3 year old's all time favorite even over Dora!! Keep up the great work!

The book both of my children first responded to was Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you see? by Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle - an excellent first book. But two books we keep coming back to (and are my favourites) are Each Peach Pear Plum and Peepo by Janet and Allan Ahlberg - both fantastic in words and pictures. Love them.

We love any of the books by Sandra Boynton. We love the illustrations and stories. Some of my daughters favorites are The Belly Button book, Hey Wake Up!, Pajama Time and Snuggle Puppy. We also like I know a Rhino by Charles Fuge. That is our most favorite at the moment b/c it describes our daughter to a T. Hope you enjoy reading to your little ones too!

For babies, I just love Hug by Jez Alborough. Just three words in the whole book, but there's so much in the illustrations. For toddlers, I never tire of the Olivia books by Ian Fleming.
