Hello,

I made a pattern for my site which can be printed on a standard sheet of paper. It works perfectly using light cardoard (we call it bristol in France) which is not expensive and easy to find.

Here it is
http://www.kutchuk.com/noel/bricolages/aventvillage.html

There are three different houses.

Maybe it could be useful to someone.

We used to make houses out of mild cartons. You could use the half-pint and pint size for one and two story houses, and use quarts and half gallons for apartment buildings.

I think we used to apint them with poster paint? Can't remember-- and not sure what kind of paint would stick on the waxy coating.
